The Handlettering Project began in 2016 as an initiative to help raise money for animals on an ongoing basis. I tried my hands at lettering for over two years prior and have been tracking my progress on my instagram account. Earlier last year I decided to use my skill to raise money for animals in need and fight against their abuse in the form of bold statements that could be worn, shared or displayed.
Almost all my projects begin with a pencil sketch, which gives me ample opportunity to tweak or spell check as necessary.
I then erase my sketch and ink my graphics using black ink pens or markers.
Despite using a pencil and then inking the type, the lines can still end up fuzzy for a number of reasons. So I digitize the graphic and clean up the edges before they’re turned into products that you can purchase to support animals.
